Terms and Conditions

1. Use of the website and services

• You must be at least 18 years of age, or have authority to act on behalf of your school, company, or organization, to register a host account or purchase a paid plan.
• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.
• You agree to provide accurate registration, billing, and contact information and to keep it up to date.
• You may not use Sonar IDE for unlawful purposes, to distribute malware, to attempt unauthorized access to systems or data, or to misuse participant monitoring data collected during hosted events.
• The Sonar Code Editor desktop app is open source under the MIT License. Use of the editor is subject to that license in addition to these Terms where applicable.

2. Products, pricing, and plans

We offer digital products and subscription services described on our Pricing page, including:

• Free tier: Sonar Code Editor download at no charge (LKR 0).
• Pro plan: Monthly subscription to the Sonar host portal, currently LKR 5,000 per month, billed in Sri Lankan Rupees unless otherwise stated at checkout.
• Enterprise: Custom agreements for organizations, priced separately in writing.

We may change plan features or prices for future billing periods. Price changes will not apply retroactively to a billing period you have already paid for. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new price for subsequent renewals.

3. Orders and payments

• When you subscribe to Pro or pay for other chargeable services, you authorize us to charge the total amount shown at checkout, including applicable taxes, through our payment partner PayHere or other approved payment methods.
• Online card and wallet payments are processed securely by PayHere. We do not store your full card number on our servers.
• We may refuse or cancel an order if payment cannot be verified, if pricing or plan information was displayed in error, or if we suspect fraud or abuse.
• Subscription renewals occur automatically each billing cycle unless you cancel before the renewal date.

4. Delivery of digital services

Sonar IDE provides digital services only. There is no physical shipping. After a successful payment for Pro, host portal access is provisioned to the account associated with your purchase, typically within a few minutes. If access is delayed beyond 24 hours, contact us at Contact or contact@knurdz.org.

5. Host accounts and acceptable use

Host accounts are for organizers and administrators managing supervised coding events. You confirm that you will use participant telemetry and reports only for legitimate supervision of events you host, and in compliance with applicable education, employment, and data-protection laws.

We may suspend or terminate host access if you breach these Terms, misuse monitoring data, or use the platform in a way that harms participants or other users.

6. Returns and refunds

Refunds for paid subscriptions are governed by our Return & Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms. Free downloads of the Sonar Code Editor are not refundable.

7. Privacy and data

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect personal data when you use the website, host portal, and related services. It is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

8. Intellectual property

The Sonar Code Editor source code is available under the MIT License. The Sonar website, host portal, branding, and documentation remain the property of Knurdz and its contributors. You may not copy, reverse engineer, or resell our hosted services except as permitted by law or open-source licenses that apply to specific components.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sonar IDE, Knurdz, and affiliates are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the website, editor, or host portal. Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of uninterrupted or error-free operation, except where mandatory consumer law applies in Sri Lanka.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change when we do. Material changes may also be communicated by email to registered hosts. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing law and contact
